Richard Gore, DDS
I’ve been practicing dentistry for more than 40 years and truly love what I do. I look forward to coming into the clinic on Monday morning; I know I’m going to have a day filled with fascinating conversations and happy smiles.
As a dentist, I’m able to help patients achieve lasting, positive changes. By improving someone’s smile, I help them feel better about their appearance. That leads to them being happier and more confident in all parts of their life. I’m also able to restore function to a patient’s mouth. This means more comfortable chewing and less stress on their facial and jaw muscles. I can relieve dental pain, increasing an individual’s quality of life, too.
Personally and professionally, I’m passionate about people who want to improve their lives. I love caring for people who want to take control of the oral health. A patient’s smile at the end of a procedure, and their thanks for making it easy and comfortable, makes my day.
I grew up and went to school in Abilene. After graduating from dental school, I started my practice in Albany. I then moved to Abilene so my wife Nancy could open her ballet school.
Nancy and I were high school sweethearts. We have three children, Lisa, Erica, and Laura, and five grandchildren, too. We are fortunate to share in their lives: soccer baseball, track, and dance have all been part of our life.
When I’m not working at the clinic, I’m often working outside at our cottage, where I can plant, trim, and enjoy our plants. I love being outside, watching the hawk fly, the young deer across the road, and the multitude of butterflies. Long ago I learned I must spend time in the outdoors, working with plants and seeing the beauty in our world.
